What are Ramps?

Have you ever been walking through a lush forest in early spring, and been suddenly captivated by a delightful aroma wafting through the trees– earthy, garlicky, and oh-so-inviting. You've stumbled upon ramps, nature's delicious gift to the season!

Ramps, often affectionately called "wild leeks," are humble yet extraordinary plants that emerge for a short period of time each spring. They have a unique flavor that combines the bite of garlic with the sweetness of spring onions. That's the magic of ramps! Their brief appearance  signals the arrival of spring, making them a cherished delicacy eagerly awaited by food enthusiasts and foragers alike.

The next time you find yourself wandering through the woods in early spring, keep an eye out for ramps and experience nature's springtime treasure.
